What is the German EEG? 🤔

To operate sustainably and in a climate-friendly way, the electricity supply from renewable energies, such as photovoltaics, is essential. In Germany, the EEG exists to ensure that all targets and rules are met!

📓 What does EEG stand for?

The Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG for short) came into force in 2000 and serves as a tool to promote electricity from renewable sources.

🌿 What is written in the EEG?

Basically, the EEG regulates everything that has to do with the transformation to a greenhouse-neutral electricity supply. In addition to the expansion path for the use of renewable energies, the EEG also contains legislation on feed-in compensations or market premiums.

🌍 Is the law future-orientated?

Every four years, the German Federal Government is required to submit a progress report on the EEG. This ensures that the law is developed and amended in a future-oriented manner.
