Did you know?

Our British subsidiary BELECTRIC UK can chalk up an impressive 191 MWp of installed capacity (including 30 MWp of battery storage system). But that's not all. With 353 MWp under operations and maintenance, we are one of the O&M heavyweights on the British market. #belectrifact #belectric #solarenergie #solarenergy #greenenergy #energiewende #energytransition #renewables #photovoltaik #belectricuk

We invest in our region’s young talent: BELECTRIC supports volleyball at Egbert-Gymnasium Münsterschwarzach 🏐👨‍🎓

Volleyball plays a central role in everyday school life at Egbert-Gymnasium Münsterschwarzach, not far from our headquarters in Kolitzheim. However, the on-site beach volleyball facility is very outdated, and the 25-year-old balls have also seen better days.

We are delighted that the school has now been able to purchase new volleyballs and nets with our help. Because at BELECTRIC, we deeply care about investing in the next generation of our home region.

Perhaps we will see some of the students again in a few years, just in time for the start of #training at BELECTRIC. We would be delighted! 😉

Are you already looking for a meaningful training? We are always happy to hear from motivated young people from the area. Just take a look: Training in the Solar Industry – BELECTRIC

Are PV systems efficient in winter? 🌥️🌨️

Sunshine is the key factor in generating solar energy efficiently. With short periods of daylight and less solar radiation, winter is considered the dark season in many countries.

🔋 But there's no need to worry: Despite lower yields, solar modules also reliably generate electricity in the winter months and therefore provide power all year round.

❄️💡 Snow even boosts the energy generation of some systems: Bifacial modules, for example, benefit from snow. The reflection of the snow means that the back of the modules can also generate energy.

5 exciting new solar farms you should know about ✨🌞

Whether it's Borrentin in northern Germany or Project W in England, we're always reporting on our latest construction sites and commissioned projects on here. But with so many projects, it's impossible to keep you up to date on all the exciting solar plants we work on every day.

That's why today we've put together the most important facts about five interesting PV systems that have been commissioned in recent months or are about to be.

From Germany to the Netherlands and England – make sure to click through!

Our solar ABC: S for…? ☀️⠀

How is it that PV systems cover huge areas without sealing the soil? In today's Solar ABC, we clarify this and other questions by taking a closer look at the substructure of our solar farms. 💡⠀

🔴 S for substructure⠀

The substructure of a solar farm forms the basis for PV modules. The modules are elevated and mounted on it. As already explained in a previous post, there are fixed-tilt substructures as well as substructures that follow the flow of the sun (“solar trackers”). The substructure is anchored in the ground using special pile driving so that the ground is only affected at certain points and not over the entire surface. 💪

Did you know?

The illuminance of the sun is around 100,000 lux, whereas that of a full moon is only 0.2 lux. This means that the light flux which the sun sends to earth is several hundred thousand times stronger than that of the moon. Therefore, even with very efficient technology, it is unfortunately not possible to generate energy from PV systems during an eerie full moon.

Nevertheless, we wish all spooky ghosts, little witches, and werewolves a spooky Halloween night! Boooooo! 👻

The best of both worlds: Solar & battery storage 🔝🔋

Storage systems are indispensable for the success of the energy transition. That is why we support our customers not only in the field of photovoltaics, but also as a general contractor in the engineering and procurement of battery storage solutions.

Depending on the business case, we offer the following to our customers:

☀️ Solar farms: The development, construction, and operation of large-scale PV plants is our core business.

🔋Stand-alone battery storage systems: In addition to stand-alone solar farms, we also focus on stand-alone battery projects.

☀️🔋Co-located projects: Integrating a storage solution designed for the individual business case into the overall PV system is also no problem for us.

Which of these variants can we help you with? 🙋‍♂️

Our solar ABC: P for…? ☀️

PPAs, kurz für Power Purchase Agreements, gewinnen für Freiflächen-Photovoltaikanlagen immer mehr an Bedeutung. Deshalb klären wir heute die Frage, was ein PPA eigentlich ist. 💡

PPAs, short for Power Purchase Agreements, are becoming increasingly important for ground-mounted photovoltaic systems. That is why today, we are answering the question of what a PPA actually is. 💡

🔴 P for Power Purchase Agreement
A Power Purchase Agreement is a contract for the supply of electricity. It is concluded between an electricity producer and an electricity consumer and includes conditions such as the negotiated prices or the volume of electricity to be supplied. In Germany, for example, PPAs enable the operation of solar farms without subsidies under the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG).

Did you know?

According to the German Environment Agency, around 95,000 hectares of land are needed across Germany to achieve the expansion targets set for photovoltaics by 2030. This corresponds to just 0.3 % of the total area of Germany, which is 35.8 million hectares.

Important step in Poland: Cooperation agreement with Polish project developer 🤝☀️

Last week in Warsaw, our Polish team signed a cooperation agreement with the Polish project developer Rawicom Consulting Services Sp. z o.o., which is part of Rawicom Group. Rawicom is currently developing systems with a total capacity of more than 3.5 GW. The contract was signed by Karol Chylinski (CEO of Rawicom Consulting Services) and Jaroslaw Smialek (Senior Director Project Development at BELECTRIC).

The cooperation between BELECTRIC and Rawicom will focus on the development of photovoltaic projects in Poland and the associated project rights.

We are already looking forward to taking the next steps together on the Polish market! 🤩
