How to boost revenue with solar farms as a municipality ☀️💰💪

Many German municipalities are looking for new sources of income but are hesitant to use their agricultural land for solar farms. That’s why we at BELECTRIC offer three different ways to boost municipal revenues while using low-value, unused land.

What are they and how can your municipality also benefit? Click through and send us an e-mail to projektentwicklung@belectric.com!

Taking big steps forward: We signed another cooperation agreement in Poland 🤝☀️

Towards the end of the year, our Polish team signed a cooperation agreement with the Polish project developer Sunlight Project Sp. z o.o.. Sunlight Project is currently developing several solar farms in Poland, from 2025 also in cooperation with BELECTRIC. We are therefore taking another important step in Poland. 😍

We are already looking forward to expanding our market presence together and will of course keep you up to date! 📣

We celebrate our jubilarians 🙌🎉

This year, we got to celebrate the anniversaries of 29 BELECTRIC employees and honour some of them at our Christmas party. We are delighted that these longtime colleagues have been part of #teambelectric for five, ten, 15, and 20 years respectively.

It’s great to have you. Thank you for your commitment as well as your blood, sweet, and tears! You make BELECTRIC the strong company it is today. 💪

Our 114-megawatt solar farm in Borrentin has been connected to the grid! ☀️⚡

We have successfully commissioned the #Borrentin solar farm in the German Mecklenburgische Seenplatte region! Nearly 200,000 modules were installed for our customer Encavis over an area equivalent to 135 football fields. The photovoltaic system will generate approximately 121 gigawatt hours (GWh) of solar power annually, which will be used to supply energy to a network of electric vehicle charging stations.

One of our highlights: The completion of the large-scale plant increases the total capacity we have installed in Germany to over 1.2 gigawatts peak (GWp). This means solar plants built by BELECTRIC across the country now provide a nominal capacity equivalent to that of a nuclear power station. 💪

Our solar ABC: I for…? ☀️⠀

Who takes command of a PV system and ensures that the solar energy generated can be fed into our electricity grid? In today’s solar ABC, it’s time to take a look at the heart of every solar system.

🔴 I for inverter

The inverter converts the direct current generated by the solar modules into grid-compliant alternating current. In order to minimise losses, modern inverters operate with an efficiency of 96 to 98 per cent. The inverter also monitors the processes of the system as well as the grid. It indicates faults should they occur and sends these messages to the monitoring system. The inverter is therefore the center of every solar system.

This is how #teambelectric brought the year to a close 🎇🎄

At our annual company Christmas party, we looked back on a successful year together with #teambelectric and celebrated the dedication of our colleagues.

The event’s programme included a mulled wine reception ☕, honouring our jubilarians 🥇, a musical theatre play performed by our trainees 🔔, delicious food 🥙 and, as always, plenty of time for chatting and celebrating. 🎉

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our employees for their dedication and hard work in 2024. There’s snow one like you! ❄️ Would you also like to be part of our legendary Christmas party next year? Then join the team!

Did you know?

Our British subsidiary BELECTRIC UK can chalk up an impressive 191 MWp of installed capacity (including 30 MWp of battery storage system). But that’s not all. With 353 MWp under operations and maintenance, we are one of the O&M heavyweights on the British market. #belectrifact #belectric #solarenergie #solarenergy #greenenergy #energiewende #energytransition #renewables #photovoltaik #belectricuk

Making the industry’s challenges heard: Visit by the Academy for Territorial Development 📣☀️🤝

Last week, we had the honour of welcoming the Academy for Territorial Development (ARL) in the Leibniz Association to our company as part of their nationwide symposium. Franz-Josef Sauer, Mayor of Arnstein, was also in attendance.

Combining science and practice, the academy researches topics relating to state and regional planning, from which planning and location specifications for our solar farms are also derived. ☀️📜

After a welcome from our CEO Thorsten Blanke, we gave the guests a tour of our in-house solar farm and the control room in our O&M. Another centrepiece of the visit was a discussion between the ARL and our Project Development team about the challenges faced by photovoltaic project developers like BELECTRIC.

We are happy about the ARL’s interest and that we could make the solar industry’s needs and hurdles heard in front of their representatives! 🤝

We invest in our region’s young talent: BELECTRIC supports volleyball at Egbert-Gymnasium Münsterschwarzach 🏐👨‍🎓

Volleyball plays a central role in everyday school life at Egbert-Gymnasium Münsterschwarzach, not far from our headquarters in Kolitzheim. However, the on-site beach volleyball facility is very outdated, and the 25-year-old balls have also seen better days.

We are delighted that the school has now been able to purchase new volleyballs and nets with our help. Because at BELECTRIC, we deeply care about investing in the next generation of our home region.

Perhaps we will see some of the students again in a few years, just in time for the start of #training at BELECTRIC. We would be delighted! 😉

Are you already looking for a meaningful training? We are always happy to hear from motivated young people from the area. Just take a look: Training in the Solar Industry – BELECTRIC

Are PV systems efficient in winter? 🌥️🌨️

Sunshine is the key factor in generating solar energy efficiently. With short periods of daylight and less solar radiation, winter is considered the dark season in many countries.

🔋 But there’s no need to worry: Despite lower yields, solar modules also reliably generate electricity in the winter months and therefore provide power all year round.

❄️💡 Snow even boosts the energy generation of some systems: Bifacial modules, for example, benefit from snow. The reflection of the snow means that the back of the modules can also generate energy.
