Secure supply chains are essential for the further expansion of renewable energies in Germany and throughout Europe. For the enormous demand for components in the ground-mounted photovoltaics segment, there is currently no alternative to orders in China, for example. The development of European production capacities – provided there were financing instruments for this – would take time. And even the competitiveness of these then European products is currently unclear.
Our colleague Andrea (Senior Director Public & Government Affairs, Strategy, Marketing & Change) shared our expertise on this exciting topic as one of 120 speakers at this year’s congress of the German Association of Energy and Water Industries (BDEW). In the panel discussion ‘Secure supply chains for the further expansion of renewables’, she stood in for our CEO Thorsten Blanke at short notice.
