BELECTRIC has already installed hundreds of megawatts of solar and energy storage capacity in the United Kingdom. The last solar farms were constructed in 2015. Until 2019, the German solar company was also involved in battery storage projects in the country. After withdrawing from the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) business in the UK, the British BELECTRIC team continued to take care of operations and maintenance of own-built as well as third-party solar systems.
The PV and energy storage market in the United Kingdom is currently experiencing a bright period of growth. BELECTRIC now uses its existing structures in the country to return to the UK market as an EPC service provider and expand the company’s track record.
“The UK market has been our home for over ten years. We are pleased to live in a time when there is such a growth expected for the next few years”, explains Barry Bennett, Managing Director of BELECTRIC subsidiary BELECTRIC Solar Ltd. UK. The first projects are already in progress. The UK employees also harness many years of experience of BELECTRIC’s global engineering and project management.
Bennett adds: “The current situation with the energy markets across Europe is not different from the one in the United Kingdom. The electricity market struggles to provide clean renewable energy solutions to its end users. Therefore it is urgent to deliver solar and energy storage projects that help the grid to be future-proofed and stable. In this way, sustainable progress towards a net-zero future can be achieved. It is in BELECTRIC’s DNA to be a strategic player in the decarbonization of the electricity network, and we want to continue putting our experience to the service of this universal goal.”
BELECTRIC is one of Europe’s leading EPC service providers in the development, construction and operation of solar power plants. The solar energy specialist looks back on more than 20 years of experience in power plant construction and has built over 4 gigawatts of capacity worldwide. BELECTRIC is a member of Elevion Group.
