Even in the long run, modern solar power plants cause almost no ecological footprint. They are deconstructable and recyclable.
The aluminum from the module frame and the copper from the cables can, for example, be recycled to a high quality and used in the construction industry, for instance. The glass can also be further processed, e.g. into glass wool.
