For our customer Encavis, we are implementing a PV project with an installed capacity of 114 megawatts near Borrentin in the district Mecklenburgische Seenplatte (Germany). Once completed, almost 200,000 modules will convert sunlight into electricity. An area of 964,600 square metres, or the equivalent of 135 soccer fields, will produce enough green electricity to meet the annual demand of around 35,000 households.

Not in competition with agriculture
The Borrentin solar farm does not compete with agriculture, as it is being built on an area with an average agricultural land grade of 27.26 and thus on an area that would not have a good agricultural yield anyway. Only values above 40 are considered good agricultural land, and values above 60 are considered very good quality.
All construction works have been completed. We are delighted that we were recently able to commission our 14 MWp project in Borrentin. We would like to thank everyone involved for the smooth cooperation! |
The final works are in progress. Our major project in Northern Germany can be commissioned soon.
In our second making of video
you can see that the majority of the solar modules have found their place on the substructure by now.

The mounting of the PV modules is in full swing. More than half of the modules have already been installed.
The pile-driving work on the entire area of the solar park has already been completed. The substructure, which forms the basis for the PV modules, is already more than 70 % complete.
Some employees of our customer Encavis, for whom we are building the solar park in Borrentin, visited the construction site. BELECTRIC colleagues gave them a tour of the site and updated them on the progress of the construction work.
Things are moving forward in big steps. The pile-driving works have almost been completed and a large part of the substructure is now in place. Some modules have already been installed.

During the pile-driving works, the substructure is fixed into the ground. In the meantime, a large part of the substructure of our solar park is already in place.
The first major milestone has been reached. The construction works on our large-scale project Borrentin can now officially begin. At the ground-breaking ceremony, representatives of BELECTRIC and Encavis as well as Peter-Heinrich Rabe, mayor of Borrentin, sealed the start of construction of the major project for the German energy transition.
