Ground-breaking ceremony for our 114 MWp project in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ☀️😍

The starting gun has been fired on the construction of a solar farm with a capacity of 114 megawatts peak near #Borrentin in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Over the next few months, we will be installing almost 200,000 solar modules for our customer @Encavis AG on an area equivalent to 135 football pitches. The modules are expected to convert sun rays into electricity starting September 2024. ☀️⚡

Borrentin solar farm does not compete with an agricultural use, as it is being built on an area with an average agricultural land grade of 27.26 and thus on an area that would not have a good agricultural yield anyway. Only values above 40 are considered good agricultural land, and values above 60 are considered very good quality.

At the ground-breaking ceremony, representatives of BELECTRIC and Encavis as well as Peter-Heinrich Rabe, mayor of Borrentin, sealed the start of construction of the major project for the German energy transition.
